Enquiry template
Some products need a conversation before anyone buys, such as made-to-order items, trade pricing or custom quotes. Ignite’s enquire template replaces the price and buy button with a question form.
Set up an enquiry product
- In your Shopify admin, open the product.
- Under Theme template, choose enquire, then click Save.
- In the theme editor, open Products > enquire. The Product enquiry form block takes the place of the price and buy buttons.
- To hide prices on these products everywhere, including product cards and search, go to Theme settings > Product cards and turn off Show prices for enquiry products.
- Click Save.
The Product enquiry form block
The form sends you an email with the customer’s email address, their message, and the product’s name, link and selected variant, so you know exactly what they’re asking about.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Text | The message above the form, such as “Got a question?”. |
| Show standard text field | A one-line field with your own label, such as “Company name”, optionally mandatory. |
| Show long text field | A box for the question itself. On by default. |
| Button label and Custom message | The submit button, and the thank-you message after sending. |
| Stock condition to show on | Show the form only when a product or variant is in or out of stock. |
| Show in quick add | Off by default, so the form stays on the product page. |
| Background image, Color scheme and Show shadow | The look of the form panel. |
Replying to enquiries
Shopify emails each enquiry to your store’s contact email. Reply from your own email, or create a draft order in your Shopify admin to send the customer a quote they can pay online.
Common questions
How do I hide the price and show an enquiry form in Shopify with Ignite?
Assign the enquire product template, and turn off Show prices for enquiry products in Theme settings > Product cards.
Where do product enquiries go?
They arrive by email, like messages from your contact form. Each one includes the product’s name, link and the variant the customer was looking at.
Can I add an enquiry form to a normal product page?
Yes. Add the Product enquiry form block to any product template, such as beside the buy buttons.
